Functions for Grades 6-12

These sessions will explore the five big ideas from the book,"Developing Essential Understanding of Expressions, Equations, and Functions: Grades 6-8"" from NCTM. The five big ideas extend through high school. These big ideas are: expressions, variables, equality, representing and analyzing functions, and solving equations. TESS components addressed for this workshop include: 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 1E, 1F, 2B, 3A, 3B, 3C, 3D, 3E, 4E. This is a two day workshop."

The workshop uses a required text "Developing Essential Understanding of Expressions, Equations, and Functions: Grades 6-8 from NCTM. ISBN 978-0-87353-670-7. This resource will be provided for participants. Important Session Information: For member districts of the SCSC Professional Development Consortium the fee has been waived. All other participants will pay the listed fee. In the event that an individual cannot attend the session for which he/she registered, it is the individual’s responsibility to cancel using his/her escWorks shoebox. Cancellations may take place up to the day before the session(s). All "no-shows" will be invoiced the full price of the session(s) not attended. No credit will be awarded until the fee is paid.
