Junior and High School Literature Circles with Technology
Literature Circles are small, peer-led discussion groups whose members have chosen to read the same article, book, or novel. They may be used in any content area that requires thoughtful reading. They require careful development, special tools, well-chosen text, problem-solving strategies, and sound assessment. This workshop will address getting started, sustaining and assessing literature circles in mid-level and high school classrooms. Additionally, participants will learn how to infuse technology through online discussion boards and blogs into their literature circles to motivate students, deepen their understanding and collaboration, and integrate writing.
