NWAESC---Developing and Integrating Spatial Mathematics and Engineering - (Monitor School Project)
Many important ideas in mathematics have their origins in thinking about the nature of space. Yet mathematics instruction often neglects space, especially in the elementary grades. Developing Spatial Mathematics engages teachers in considering how children’s everyday experiences of space can ground learning in mathematics, both the forms of mathematics typically considered spatial, such as measurement and geometry, and those that use space less explicitly, such as data and statistics. You MUST be a part of the Monitor Project to register for this class.
