SE Reading Recovery Continuing Contact
Reading Recovery teachers are required to attend Continuing Contact according to RRCNA guidelines as part of their on going professional development. Each session is focused around two observations known as Behind the Glass. Two teachers are assigned to conduct a real time lesson with a student and the other teachers participate in a discussion of the lesson. The training also includes theory to practice session and intense analysis of the reading process. The following components are addressed on a continuous basis: data collection, RRCNA guidelines, IDEC, student selection, Reading Recovery Lesson protocol, Reading Recovery book selection, acceleration, etc.
