In the morning session of this workshop, participants will get a chance to hear from scientists with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and the Buffalo National River as they explain some of their research and current studies that are taking place in the O.U.R. area. C.D. Scott, botanist with the BNR, will be sharing a presentation on rare and endangered plants and a new marking process being used to protect ginseng roots from poaching. The afternoon session will consist of Shawn Hodges, biologist with the AGFC, sharing some of his studies on fish in the Buffalo River and training participants on how to use otoliths to age fish. It should be an interesting and eventful day! Lunch will be provided.
