NAESC Special Education 101



The ADE Special Education Unit will guide participants through the special education process from child find and referral, to IEP development and reevaluation considerations. Participants will learn about required procedures and considerations around disciplining students with IEPs and the steps involved in the State’s System for Dispute Resolution including Mediation, IEP Facilitation, State Complaints, and Due Process Hearings. This session will be conducted through a combination of the presenter sharing information, small group work and online learning. Audience: Special Education Teachers, Special Education Supervisors, Principals, Superintendents and Early Childhood Special Education Teachers. Participants will need to bring a laptop or other mobile device.
