WDMESC: LIVESTREAM: The Achievement Gap as a Leadership Gap: How States, Districts, Schools, and Higher Education Can Improve PreK-12 Learning Outcomes
Lessons learned from Chicago Public Schools when moving from “the worst school system in America” (Sec. William Bennet, 1987) to “among the fastest improving districts in the U.S.” (Stanford University Study, 2017). This presentation demonstrates how schools leveraged an intensive school leadership pipeline initiative since 1996 to achieve a dramatic and sustained improvement with state and national implications on school improvement policy and practice.
