SCSC-Paul Andersen: Increasing Engagement in the K-12 Science Classroom



This workshop will use authentic phenomena to focus on the best practices of science instruction including; modeling instruction, argument-driven inquiry, phenomenon-based instruction, and the science and engineering practices contained in the Arkansas K-12 Science Standards. Special consideration will be given to the cross-cutting concepts as both a thematic and a practical lens to drive scientific inquiry. Participants will engage in scientific inquiry that is guided by authentic assessments and best practices. Come and experience this form of 3-dimensional instruction with Paul Andersen as your guide.

For member districts of the SCSC Professional Development Consortium the fee has been waived. Districts that have not paid for nurses and/or paraprofessionals will pay the listed fee. In the event of cancellation, registrants will be notified by email (address tied to escWorks). Participants are not allowed to bring guests (such as children or spouses) to any training.
