DSC AI in Education

This session will explore the multifaceted aspects of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education by expounding on its positive impact, potential drawbacks, and ethical considerations. We will review various elements regarding AI but will focus on saving educators time by exploring lesson plans and rubric creation and the possibilities of using AI to assist with grading. As we delve into the ethical considerations, we will explore AI detectors, plagiarism identification, and classroom and district policies for student use of AI ( grades 9-12). Participants will leave this session with a greater understanding of AI in education and tools and skills to save time with essential tasks. Using Arkansas standards, participants will engage in hands-on exploration and lesson plan creation with guidance and resources specific to their content area. No knowledge of AI is needed for this session. We will use various AI applications and extensions as we gain knowledge of AI use specifically for saving educators time. Participants will need to bring a laptop or Chromebook.
