OpenSciEd Middle School Science curriculum has received all “green” from EdReports and has also earned the NGSS Badge. There are also High School Units that have been released this year for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Are you implementing OpenSciEd (OSE) curriculum this school year or have you heard about OSE and are curious about it? If so, then this is the workshop for you! This workshop will introduce middle school teachers, high school teachers, and administrators to the OpenSciEd curriculum.
An overview of the following will be given: available units, program structure, Storyline Instructional Model, unit-level materials, how to access resources, etc. Also, the 7th-grade Chemical Reactions & Matter unit will be used to familiarize teachers with the Storyline Instructional Model and the five routines that advance the storyline. Teachers will have the opportunity to experience the Anchoring Phenomenon Routine and develop a Driving Question Board in “student hat” mode and then have time to reflect on these in “teacher hat” mode.
