Resiliency for Educators
A dysregulated adult can not regulate a dysregulated child. As a result, the self-care
practices of educators are a critical component to teacher effectiveness. We will begin
with a look at the impacts of trauma and how it shapes our personality armor and
behaviors. Educators will gain more understanding about what true self-care is, and
what it is not. It will include discussion about the practical application of research on
topics like ACEs (adverse childhood experiences), self-compassion, belonging, and
more. We will take time to help you identify what stands in your way and possible
action steps to help you plan a more resilient way forward.
