WDMESC: Core Tools for Complex Learning Environments/Easterseals

Formerly known as Starting Strong in Self-Contained, we have rebranded this training to reflect the essential tools needed to establish or refine the classroom environment in order to support students who are complex learners and communicators. This session is designed for teachers, paras, related service providers, administrators, or school teams working with students with extensive support needs. Throughout the morning, tools will be presented that support the design and creation of supportive learning environments and participants will self-assess their current classroom realities. In the afternoon, structured options will be offered to give participants an opportunity to work on establishing and/or refining their classroom set-up and schedules. At the same time, school or team leaders will receive an introduction to resources that can be used to build staff capacity and sustain effective special education programs (Project Prepare Coach Training).
