GFESC Bullying Prevention in School: Types and Effects & Parents As Partners (VIRTUAL) (AM)



Bullying is a serious problem in schools resulting in physical and mental health problems. Join us as we explore the scope of bullying: what it is, who bullies, who gets bullied, and how the effects of a learning environment free from bullying improves academic success.

Partnering with parents is especially important when addressing mental health concerns of students. Parent involvement in mental health is an important protective factors for student well-being, creates shared responsibility for a student’s social-emotional development and needs, ensures that teachers’ and parents’ expectations and goals align. This session will explore the many layers of communication with parents and provide strategies to consider in family involvement.
