As districts are preparing for the hiring season, I am excited to share a valuable professional development opportunity with you. The Fiscal Services and Support Unit of the DESE is offering a Budget Prep session. These sessions will be similar to the Budget Prep sessions conducted last summer by Dr. Eric Saunders. This year, Jason Miller and/or Dr. Saunders will be conducting these sessions. Realizing that districts cannot wait until after the hiring season to understand their current and future finances, has caused us to move these supports up in the year.
The purpose of this training is to assist superintendents in understanding how to develop a well-structured budget that allows them to allocate resources effectively, make informed decisions, and sustain solid fiscal health.
