GFESC Lake Ouachita Float #1: All Aboard for Exploring AR Environmental Science!

Dive into the world of water critters in this action-packed one-day adventure! Join us for a session as we explore stream and water quality through the exciting lens of indicator macroinvertebrates and take a boat tour around Lake Ouachita. Get ready to channel your inner aquatic detective! In this immersive experience, participants will investigate the stream environment using the biotic index – unveiling the hidden stories of organisms living in the water. Aligned with the Arkansas K-12 Science Standards in Environmental Science, this is not your average professional development day – it's a water critter extravaganza where learning is a splash and discovery knows no bounds! The workshop will last all day so bring a sack lunch and dress appropriately to be outside on the boat. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and something to drink bring are encouraged.
