This 6-hour, impactful, professional development is designed to help educators gain knowledge on the current research of families experiencing poverty. A focus will be placed on how to engage students in learning and improving their overall performance in school from grades to behavior. This professional development will also help you to meet your parental involvement requirements by giving you knowledge on how to recognize families of poverty and ways to address their needs and strategies for them to be involved in their child's education.
The session will focus on information backed by research in the morning and involve participating in the poverty simulation in the afternoon.
