DSC Building K-12 Thinking Mathematics Classrooms



This professional learning will focus on helping K-12 teachers create classrooms that foster deeper mathematical thinking among their students. Peter Lilledahl's book, Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics (Grades K-12): 14 Teaching Practices for Enhancing Learning, offers strategies for engaging students in meaningful math activities that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration. Not only will participants learn strategies based on his research to engage students in thinking for longer periods of time, but also ways to set up conditions in the classroom to promote mathematical thinking.
