DSC Chemistry and Physical Science Day with Water & Human Impact #2

Teachers will be shown ways of how to relate the AR Science Standards on human impact to local water sources. Investigate for yourself water quality through hands-on testing. Learn about the hazards of chemicals leaching out of products into our environment. OBU Professor Dr. Hubbard will describe her research and you will be given authentic examples of the importance of chemistry. See how solubility rules come into play in nature with Dr. Hollandsworth. Teachers will see the impact of analyzing data and communicating that data effectively. We will use a variety of sensors that would be available to check out from Dawson and used in your classroom. Connect human impact and Earth systems in relevant ways to your students using chemical reactions. Bring a sack lunch/drink. The presenters are Dr. Sara Hubbard, Dr. Sharon Hamilton and Dr. Burt Hollandsworth.
