SWAEC- QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) and Poverty Training

QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) - The 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. Each year thousands of Americans like you, are saying "Yes" to saving the life a friend, colleague, sibling, student, or neighbor. This educational opportunity will discuss an overview of poverty based on the research of Dr. Donna Beegle. It will offer a unique perspective that will inform and challenge how we see poverty in America. It will cover different types of poverty, common perceptions about the people living in poverty, and how people living in the crisis of poverty communicate.
