GREC - CTE: Criminal Justice



You will see and experience what the CTE Program of Criminal Justice does. You will go through the same classwork the students do to learn about performing the duties of a patrol officer and an investigator. You will learn the process of working a case from the crime scene to the conviction in the courtroom. You will learn, hands on, what a real CSI investigation consists of. Several parts of the job like fingerprinting, handcuffing, weapon retention, traffic stops, field sobriety simulations, interrogations, criminal profiling, and reading a suspect's body language. You will learn the difference between an interview and an interrogation. All the scenarios are real life cases and incidents. We will study the force continuum or the chart that the Supreme Court stated when deadly force can be used for officers and civilians. We will discuss the mental aspect of becoming and sustaining a long career as a law enforcement officer.
