AFESC-Trauma Informed Classroom Management
Arkansas leads the nation in the number of students who have experienced at least one adverse childhood experience. This session is focused on understanding the effects that student trauma can have on behavior in the classroom and includes an overview of the four different types of trauma, how the brain reacts, and effective strategies to support students of trauma. A review of the three components of classroom management will also be included, and tools will be provided for participants to take with them as a way to continue to master the skills in this area. Whether you are a novice or a veteran teacher, this workshop can help you hone your skills as a classroom manager while understanding student trauma.
