SCSC -Math Manipulatives That Help Make STEM Possible



This 6 hour session is led by Jim Franklin, teacher from Elm Street Elementary in Rome, GA, who invented the "Slide-A-Round," a number line to 10,000,000, and other math manipulatives that address fractions, decimals, elapsed time, money, weight, and capacity. They are also available for low vision and blind students. Participants will use the Slide-A-Round math manipulatives to solve math problems. You will also explore how these manipulatives will help make STEM possible.

TESS components addressed include: 3A, 3C





Important Session Information:


For member districts of the SCSC Professional Development Consortium the fee has been waived. Districts that have not paid for nurses and/or paraprofessionals will pay the listed fee. In the event of cancellation, registrants will be notified by email (address tied to escWorks). Participants are not allowed to bring guests (such as children or spouses) to any training.
