WDMESC: Middle and High School OpenSciEd Overview (Day 1)

What does a middle school science classroom look and sound like when all students are engaged in science sensemaking? What structures and supports can teachers implement to make this a reality for their classrooms? This session will address both questions while engaging teachers in the OpenSciEd curriculum. Their middle school curriculum is an open source curriculum that received an all-green rating from EdReports for meeting all expectations (Standards, Coherence/Scope and Usability). Teachers will leave with access to the curriculum and opportunities to check out some of the hands-on materials to begin implementation. This session is designed for middle school and high school teachers.
