Participants will review how the sound, structure, and history of our language all work together to influence the pronunciation, spelling, and meaning of words. Participants will understand that English is built on Anglo-Saxon, Latin, and Greek and examine how components of these layers can be expanded to create new words. Teachers will also gain different strategies and a lesson plan be examined and model lessons will be analyzed to connect theory to classroom practice.
This session is for educators who have chosen Pathway D as their proficiency pathway for Science of Reading which includes watching the Arkansas IDEAS videos plus 3 additional days.
