SE School Chemistry Laboratory Safety for Teachers



Mike Watson, Program Manager for the Arkansas Occupational Safety & Health, Arkansas Department of Labor and Licensing discusses the public school’s responsibilities in ensuring that all employees are aware of potential hazards and have policies in place to protect employees from harm. In this session, Mr. Watson discusses the federal and state requirements and recommendations set forth for science labs in Arkansas public schools. The session will include, but not limited to, chemical hygiene plan, how to interpret safety data sheets (SDS), chemical labeling, chemical storage, PPE and more.

*This training satisfies the Federal OSHA and AOSH requirements that employers provide initial training and annual refresher training for chemical hazards in the workplace.
