Research has shown that one effective way to fill instructional gaps, while also increasing achievement, is to provide students with consistent exposure and practice with grade level content through the reading of grade level text.
During this 2-hour workshop, participants will unpack the connection between developing readers having consistent access to grade level text and reading and literacy achievement, explore research based strategies and scaffolds for supporting students reading below grade level with accessing grade level text, and build a plan for consistently implementing one strategy in their classroom instruction.
