Participants will research best practices and instructional strategies for incorporating text-based writing into content classes with a focus on social studies.

Important Session Information:

Writing in the social studies classroom should be a near-daily occurrence.  Students must be able to write in various ways for many different purposes, with one of those being in response to texts they have read.  Participants will use DBQ items, textbooks, and other resources to explore strategies for text-based writing.

This session will be held in Room 31 from 8:30-3:30 on June 17. Misty Ward and Keri Hamilton will facilitate this session.
