The majority of job openings in Arkansas today are in highly skilled technical fields and these jobs make up a vast majority of the manufacturing sector, a cornerstone of the state’s economy, and represent more than 90 percent of Arkansas’s exports. In addition, industries such as construction and trucking are also struggling to find qualified technical professionals.
The goal of Connecting Educators to Industry is to connect educators with industry experts in regions across the state by providing educators with research, data, and information that can be shared with students as they make decisions about future career paths in manufacturing, trucking, construction, agriculture and other industries in Arkansas. The day includes a panel of industry leaders, a tour of local industry, and ready to use resources for the classroom.
