Proficiency scales describe the performance expected from the student on a learning target. Grading with proficiency scales provides clear communication to students and parents about the student’s strengths and weaknesses on that learning target. Teachers bring their current learning targets, and together learn about proficiency scales and have time to work on developing proficiency scales. If you have not yet established learning targets, just bring your essential standards preferably in digital format and bring a laptop.
