This workshop will demonstrate
how to creatively implement writing and peer discussion through bell work, art
criticism, and reflections at a variety of grade levels. The presenter will
share various ideas from years of teaching grades 1 through high school art
classes. Participants will create bell ringers, writing activities, and
critiquing methods that appeal to students in a variety of ways. Each
participant will bring a lesson plan that can incorporate a bell ringer, art
activity, and reflection at the end. The lesson should provide writing and
verbal skills that can be shared with others. The goal of the workshop is to
provide a round table of creative, unique lessons to grab the attention of
today's young artists. Please bring 1-3 lesson plans that are tested and engaging,
your laptop, and copies that can be handed out to the participants. Lesson
plans can be about specific subject matter, art history, or technique.
If you are not under contract with the Northeast Arkansas Education Cooperative or one of our 14 member districts, you will be responsible for all fees related to this workshop. The fee for this training is $25. Payment is expected the day of the training unless prior arrangements have been made.
