Elementary Reading: Meeting the Demands of the Third Grade Guarantee-online only - ONLINE COURSE NO FACE TO FACE MEETINGS

This course uses online modules to provide:• Personalized, flexible blended course material that will not only improve teaching and learning at the elementary grades, but offers test preparation opportunities related to the Praxis (5203); • Classroom teachers with confidence and knowledge they will need to be successful on test day and beyond;

• Content in the online modules is aligned to the blueprint of the Praxis 5203 Teaching Reading: Elementary Education test.

Important Session Information:

The Third Grade Reading Guarantee Law (ORC 3313.608) requires that all students are reading at grade level by the third grade. It also established qualifications that required teachers to provide reading instruction for students affected by the Third Grade Reading Guarantee, particularly Third graders. One option for becoming “qualified” to meet these new requirements is to earn a passing score on a rigorous test of principles of scientifically research-based reading instruction, Praxis 5203 Teaching Reading: Elementary Education with a score of 162 or above.
