Research clearly demonstrates the power of effective school leadership and its impact on student academic achievement. The academy will provide five, half-day sessions to study the practices and skills necessary for principals to be accomplished instructional leaders. Participants will create a professional network as they engage in structured activities and discussions that result in deeper learning to apply to their real work.
This session is for district teams or individuals to assess their inter-rater reliability as it relates to the OTES rubric and coaching teachers for continued growth. Teams will observe a teacher, rate, and compare ratings with one another and other district teams. Teams will also examine a differentiated continuum of self-reflection to help teachers grow their practice resulting in greater student achievement.
Participants will:
- in a team, collaborate and discuss ratings to assess level of inter-rater reliability.
- view a classroom lesson, script, and rate a teacher.
- practice providing coaching feedback as it relates to an area of reinforcement and refinement.
- continue to develop inter-rater reliability within your school and district.
