Welcome Your New Student, Alexa!

- Audience:  K-12 Teachers and Administrators or any educator looking for innovative solutions in the classroom




Participants will:

  • see a variety of skills and tools demonstrated that teachers can use by adding an Alexa (Amazon’s voice enabled speaker) to their classroom.
  • experience how to develop lessons and classroom activities, harnessing the power of this 21st century virtual assistant.
  • observe and experience real-world applications that they can use as well as having time to collaborate with a variety of educators on future uses of Alexa.

Important Session Information:


A report from eMarketer projects over 35 million Americans will use a voice-enabled speaker at least once a month this year. Over 70 percent of that usage will be with Alexa, Amazon’s voice-activated virtual assistant.

Join Rebecca Dwenger and Joe Jahnigen as they demonstrate the variety of skills and tools that teachers can use by welcoming Alexa to the classroom. Attendees will experience how to develop lessons and classroom activities harnessing the power of a virtual assistant. Leave knowing the impact Alexa has on learning and a library of commands/skills/abilities that she possesses.
