Many schools and districts are adopting a whole child approach to MTSS that incorporates both academic and behavior supports. This session will discuss considerations for integrating both content areas into a comprehensive program. Lessons learned from our work over the past 19 years will be shared as well as addressing common implementation challenges.
The afternoon session will focus on gaining a thorough understanding of the critical social, emotional and academic needs that impact students of poverty. Participants will evaluate and examine critical Engagement Factors (Jensen) and ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences), that if fully addressed, can lead to increased social, emotional and academic success.
