RTI/MTSS for Academics: Helping Your School Reach Its Positive Tipping Point
This full-day workshop provides practical guidance to school psychologists, administrators, and other educational leaders in how to successfully implement the RTI/MTSS-academic model in their school or district.
The training covers these 3 important topics:
1. Tier 1: RTI/MTSS in the Classroom. MTSS cannot be successful in a school unless the classroom teacher has a clearly defined role. The first half of the training day presents in detail a Tier 1 process and collection of practical resources that teachers can use as ‘first responders’ to provide classroom interventions.
2. RTI/MTSS: Common Roadblocks. The next training segment analyzes the most serious roadblocks that schools commonly encounter when implementing RTI/MTSS (e.g., Tier 2/3: Lack of clear entrance and exit criteria). The workshop provides suggestions to overcome each roadblock.
3. RTI/MTSS: Changing Your System. The final section of this training highlights those key stakeholders (e.g., interventionists; administrators) across your school or district whose active participation is essential to the success of RTI/MTSS. The workshop offers guidance on how to use positive communication and negotiation skills to build support for RTI/MTSS among these critical stakeholders.
All resources shared at the workshop will be available online.
