Audience: Intervention Specialist, SLP, OT, PT, Teacher

Name three interventions for students during art activities including: physical, communicative and sensory difficulties.
Create and take at least two three low-tech assistive technology solutions to make more accessible for students.
Experience and discuss at least three high-tech assistive technology solutions to make art more accessible.
Important Session Information:
The art room is a unique opportunity for creativity, errorless learning and inclusion for all students. The Art is for Everyone course will teach the importance of art in school curriculum, low-tech and high-tech ways to adapt standard art supplies and interventions for students with physical, motor, communicative and sensory needs. Come experience and try high-tech adapted art materials while making your own low-tech adapted art materials. Leave with knowledge and the “how to” to increase student’s participation, independence, socialization and interaction with staff, teachers and peers all through art. Let’s make some happy trees!
