STEP-A Anchor Set Development
This is a workgroup and professional development opportunity for teachers to work directly with STEP-A submissions and review them for alignment and quality to develop examples for training and reference. This workgroup was conducted last year and those participating felt it was the best professional development they had attened to better understand the standards and to learn how to develop quality submissions. For this workgroup teacher's selected will need to have knowledge of Math, Reading and/or Science standards at the appropriate grade levels (Gr 3-8, and 11). The purpose of the workgroup is to develop anchor sets of supporting evidence that will be used for training and scoring. Anchor sets are a set of materials addressing a common task/skill across the five rating levels on the Dakota STEP-A. Both special education and general education teachers are needed to ensure submissions are selected that are academically aligned and best represent students with significant cognitive disabilities.
