Made You Look! Teaching Print Awareness to Beginning Readers
Audience: Educators, K-2, Literacy Coaches, PreK-Kindergarten Teachers, Reading Specialists

Help bridge the gap between students who are print savvy and raring to read and students for whom print seemingly holds no appeal. Participants will learn how to identify students who need explicit instruction on print awareness and ways to support them as they learn the arbitrary conventions of our printed language. Participants receive the Region 4 product Emergent Reader Concept of Print Series, consisting of six books with manipulatives to help teach six individual concepts of print.
