HB 984 Diabetes Training
Share
Diabetes Education training session will meet the requirements established in the House Bill 984, which has recently been passed in the state of Texas. School personnel that attend the session will be qualified and have a basic education to enable them to assist the school nurse and others in caring for the child with diabetes in their schools. This will provide an opportunity to learn the basics of Diabetes type 1 & 2: recognizing low blood sugar symptoms and providing the necessary and immediate treatment, assist with insulin injections and the insulin pumps, and finally basic techniques in checking blood sugar levels. The class will be a combination of lecture using ADA approved materials and hands-on practice to complete the skills that are needed to assist with diabetes care. Benefits are excellent at a personal and professional level.
