Teaching students with significant autism and/or low incidence disabilities requires educators to
wear many hats and be focused and intentional during daily instruction. This series of webinars are designed to provide teachers resources and time to
build professional connections with colleagues who work directly with students who have
been diagnosed with ASD, ID, or have significant academic and behavior support needs. Some of the topics
addressed may include:
- Classroom structure and organization
- Visual supports and
communication
- Video modeling, social narratives, and mindfulness
- Active learning methods
- Literacy for students with AU/LID
- Assistive
technology devices
- Challenges of virtual/blended learning for students with significant support needs
