As the world struggles with the largest refugee crisis since WWII, Echoes & Reflections content offers educators an opportunity to explore the history of Jewish refugees during the 30s and 40s and connect the lessons of intolerance, inaction, and indifference to how we understand today's refugee crisis.
Through this program, educators will:
1. Explore a sound pedagogy for the planning and implementation of Holocaust education in the classroom;
2. enhance personal knowledge abut the Holocaust, and specifically the plight of Jewish refugees;
3. Discover and utilize multimedia assets, including visual history testimonies and additional resources, such as IWitness, a companion website with interactive student-centered activities, and
4. Identify opportunities to connect the lessons of the Holocaust with today's refugee crisis.
This session will be held at Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) in Conway, Arkansas and facilitated by Kayla Fletcher.
