2021-DESE-Science of Reading Assessor Training Session 2 - Virtual



This three hour Zoom training is session 2 of 2 sessions that are required for anyone who will evaluate teachers for the proficiency requirements in Act 1063 (The Right to Read Act). Across this course, participants will work through rubrics, videos, and scenarios to make determinations about how to score and coach teachers as they work toward proficiency in the practices supported by the science of reading. This training will cover K-2 and 3-6 content areas as well as K-12 special education. Registration will be limited to 35 participants per session. Each participant should sign up for one session 2 training.

Prerequisites for attendance of session 2: Must be a licensed administrator who, in the normal scope of his or her duties, is tasked with observing teachers and required to conduct evaluations of personnel. Must have attended every day of phase I of a specific proficiency pathway Must have attended session 1 of the training Must have worked through the course work that is available on connect2digital
