2021-DESE-Grasping Phenomenal Science (GPS) 101: Introduction - Virtual



This introductory Grasping Phenomenal Science (GPS) session is designed for any K-12 teacher or instructional leader who wants to know more about science instruction aligned with the Arkansas K-12 Science Standards. Learn how to interpret the standards for 3 dimensional teaching and learning in the classroom. Participants need to have access to a device with internet capabilities and a google account. Participants must participate in online discussions, complete assignments, and provide evidence of application of tools taught in this session. Each session is designed for 3-24 participants. This session will be delivered using Zoom and Google platforms in two 3.0 hrs. Zoom sessions interspersed with small group independent practice supported directly by DESE science program advisor. Independent work time TBD by DESE science program advisor facilitating the sessions. Audience: K-12 novice science teachers or anyone needing foundational understanding of the Arkansas k-12 Science Standards.
