DESE - In the Know with Foster Care

The foster care system is designed to temporarily keep kids safe while their parents or primary caretakers address the problems that led to their children’s removal. The goals of the foster care system are permanency, safety, and wellbeing.  This session will focus on the unique needs of these youth and equip educators and caring adults to provide a network of support and love.

Objectives:

  1. To bring awareness to the importance of confidentiality in Foster Children

  2. To identify warning signs to look for in foster youth

  3. To inform on the importance of building a rapport with youth

  4. To emphasize the things our foster youth are entitled to.

  5. To build a partnership by the simplest gestures.
