Join Jonathan G. Vander Els, a Solution Tree author and associate and the Director of Innovative Projects for the New Hampshire Learning Institute as he discusses a path for creating a fully integrated, personalized, and competency-based learning system. Jonathan co-authored the book, "Breaking with Tradition: the Shift to Competency-based Learning in PLCs at Work". Throughout the book, the authors explore how the components of PLCs promote the principals of competency-based education and share real-world examples from practitioners. As a practitioner himself, Jonathan is able to blend his experience and expertise to meet educators where they are and assist them to develop practical next-steps to ensure high levels of learning for all students. Formerly, Jonathan was principal of Memorial Elementary School in New Hampshire. Under his leadership, Memorial School became a nationally recognized model PLC and Competency-based learning elementary environment.
