Kathy Glass, Solution Tree, will identify standards related to vocabulary acquisition and usage to set the stage. She will then engage participants in an interactive session by sharing learning targets, rubrics, work tiers, research, a process and activities for instruction, and assessment all related to vocabulary. Additionally, participants will learn about the types of context clues, teachers can apply the content presented in their classrooms.
In this interactive session, the presenter will explain the difference between holistic and analytic rubrics, the purposes for using each, and rubric components. She will feature various examples of analytic rubrics and prompt participants to design their own with her guidance. Additionally, she will discuss the function of student checklists, share examples and explain how both the rubric and checklist can be sued as instructional tools.
