School district seeking Medicaid reimbursement for Personal Care Services provided in accordance with a student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP) must allow personal care aides employed by the district to attend the MITS Virtual Personal Care Training, which provides 10 hours of credit towards the total of 40 hours required to achieve DESE Personal Care Aide Certification. All virtual attendees are required to be visible during the entirety of the session, actively engage in the discussion and complete a digital exam at the conclusion of the session in order to obtain credited for this course.
Nurses involved in the Personal Care services for the district must attend the MITS Personal Care Training, if they have never done so. In addition, it is advisable for the Medicaid Billing personnel within the district to attend the first half of the training, if they have never done so.
In addition to ESC Works registration, all attendees are required to complete the Zoom registration at the link below to be admitted to the session. Do not wait until the last minute to register on Zoom, as it will delay admission to the class.
