Child Abuse Investigation - The Role of the Children's Advocacy Center (Virtual-ADE-2022)
When a call is made to the Child Abuse Hotline, a network of investigative and protective factors are put into action. These sessions are designed to help educators understand the, sometimes hidden, process beyond the call. Taylor May, Prevention and Community Education Supervisor at the Cooper-Anthony Mercy Child Advocacy Center will discuss the roles and services of a Children's Advocacy Center (CAC). A CAC is a place that provides a safe, child-friendly environment where professionals work with children who have been abused or have witnessed abuse in their home. A team works to develop effective, coordinated strategies sensitive to the needs of each unique child and case.
