2024-DESE-Youth Mental Health First Aide - Virtual

This course from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing will cover how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders.  The training gives skills needed to reach out and provide initial help and support to your ages 12-18 who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis.  This virtual training consists of two parts_

Prework: Participants will receive emails from MHFA Connect with instructions, links and reminders to complete pre-work tasks in the MHFA Connect system.  If the pre-work is not completed, attendance is not allowed in the Instructor Led Session.

Instructor Led Session: This is the live virtual portion of the course.  It is interactive and participants will need to have both audio and video capabilities to participate.

Paid for and sponsored by the Arkansas Department of Education ARKANSAS AWARE.

Zoom information will be provided in the Connect Mental Health First Aid site.
