2025-2026-DESE-Art & Architecture of the Arkansas State Capitol



Location: Starting at 2 Capitol Mall, Room 531, Little Rock, AR and proceeding to the Arkansas State Capitol and grounds

Art and Architecture of the Arkansas State Capitol: this in-person 6-hour workshop will focus on the historical impact of the Arkansas State Capitol and its monuments. This will include a tour of the Capitol, a walking tour of the Capitol grounds highlighting the various memorials. Participants will explore the connections of the Arkansas history reflected in the memorial's parallel major events in United States history and how they can integrate what they learn into their America250 celebration. Teachers and school librarians will also be provided with resources they can integrate into Arkansas history lessons and introduced to the educational opportunities provided by the Arkansas Secretary of State's Office. In addition, participants will explore how this workshop is in partnership with the Arkansas Secretary of State's Office.
